Knowing the physicochemical composition of the functional ingredient is especially important to determine its potential in the final product.

CIDAF has multiple analytical platforms that can give you the answer on the composition in bioactive compounds of any type of matrix (food, by-products of the agri-food industry, plant extracts, functional ingredients and biological samples from in vitro and in vivo assays, among others). Our equipment allows us to analyze a wide variety of compounds, from fatty and organic acids, amino acids, volatile compounds, sterols, vitamins, carotenoids, glycoalkaloids, purines, phenolic compounds or terpenes to different endogenous metabolites present in biological samples.

  • Qualitative and/or quantitative analytical methods by HPLC-DAD, HPLC-QTOF-MS and GC-QTOF-MS.
  • Identification of unknown compounds.
  • Spectrophotometric determinations.
  • Advice on experimental design: objectives of the study, type and number of samples, logistical and conservation aspects, etc.
